Headphones for the baby

A maternity clinic in Slovakia has found a way to provide comfort for newborns who temporarily must be separated from their mothers. You do this by giving classical music therapy.

Saca clinic in Kosice, Slovakia, provides a standard size headphone attached to a tiny baby's head. But it impressed giant headphones for the baby. Furthermore, clinic managers playing classic songs such as Mozart or Vivaldi.

Head of the maternity clinic of Dr. Slavka Viragova say that classical music functions as a substitute for mother's voice and that classical music helps babies breathe regularly and maintain a normal heart beat. So far Viragova claims music therapy method was judged a success.

Dr Viragova shows one example of therapy that apply to Nela, a two-day-old baby, and seemingly asleep terlhat happy though not accompanied by their parents who are undergoing treatment postpartum recovery.
