Nokia Siemens Completes Acquisition of Motorola

After a delay, Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) has finally completed its asset purchase of Motorola's wireless network infrastructure Solutions. NSN pay approximately USD975 million to complete the acquisition. As from 30 April 2011, NSN is responsible for supporting customers' products and services of GSM, CDMA, WCDMA, WiMAX and LTE Motorola Solutions.

This is good news for customers, investors and our employees. The news also allows Motorola Solutions further sharpen our strategic focus in providing critical solutions for government and our enterprise customers As part of the deal, NSN will also support 50 operators spread across 52 countries and no less than 6900 employees of Motorola Solutions. Instead, Nokia Siemens Networks will also get a number of research and development facilities, including facilities in the United States, China, Russia, India and the United Kingdom.

The acquisition process was delayed several times, mainly due to a lawsuit by Huawei Technologies. Known, Huawei and Motorola got quite a long time cooperation, including in the sale of Huawei products under the brand vendor based in Illinois. However, the acquisition agreement by NSN encourage Huawei Motorola filed a lawsuit to prevent the leaking of their business information into the hands of NSN.
